Words by Ryan requires no account. Puzzle input is sent to the same-origin Vercel server only to calculate results and is not used for advertising.
Anonymous page views, traffic sources and product events (for example game starts, guesses and checkout steps) are measured with Ryan's self-hosted Umami installation. Events do not include guessed words, e-mail addresses, recovery codes, verification codes, nicknames or advertising identifiers. Umami does not use analytics cookies or track visitors across websites.
Vercel processes necessary technical request, security and log data. Polar processes checkout, payment, tax, fraud-prevention and receipt data. Ryan does not receive your full card details.
Secure browser cookies remember free Pro puzzles, paid access and checkout confirmation. They are not advertising cookies. Words Pro ownership is stored against a hashed email address. Lost Pro access, or Pro on another device? Email Ryan at toolsbyryan@protonmail.com. There is no in-app recovery code.
If you tap Feedback, Ryan receives your note, an optional name, an optional screenshot, and technical context such as the page and app version. Feedback is stored as a private GitHub issue for this app. Product analytics only record that feedback was opened, sent or failed — never the note, name, screenshot or page address.
